Help make a difference! Lakin Tire is a Liberty Tire Company is North Americas largest tire recycler. Lakin Tire is now hiring a Full Tire CDL Class C driver to run daily collection routes. We collect and recycle more than 190 million tires into raw materials for smart, useful products that improve people’s lives.

Job Description / Overview:

We are currently seeking Class C Drivers that will oversee the daily collection of waste tires. As a Box Truck Driver, you and your Route Helper will load and unload tires at different collection sites. This position is responsible for the safe collection of used tires from a customer’s facility and transportation of the tires back to the warehouse facility or drop yard. In addition to the tire collections, the driver also functions as the main point of customer interaction and records all transactions following company standards.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects or repairs to dispatch through the successful completion of DVIR’s; maintain clean, safe equipment.
• Maintain a positive customer service attitude in demanding situations.
• Knowledge and understanding of navigating with local maps.
• Possess knowledge and experience to operate a variety of tractors within DOT guidelines.
• Understand and know safe lifting techniques to lift and load tires of all sizes (personal vehicle, truck, and tractor tires)
• Perform all duties following appropriate safety standards.
• Other duties will be assigned as necessary by the company.

Minimum Qualifications & Licensing/Certification Requirements

• Valid Class C Driver's License (Required)
• 3-6 months commercial Box Truck driving experience (Preferred)
• Experience with driving 26ft straight truck (Required)
• Must be able to work overtime as needed including weekends
• Basic English and ability to communicate, understand written and spoken instructions

Physical Demands:

• Lift, carry, push, and pull up to an average of 30-50 lbs on a routine basis and be physically capable of climbing in a trailer unassisted.
• Perform heavy manual tasks under varying weather conditions.

Hourly Pay:

• Starting at $19.00 per hour

Sign-On Bonus - $3500

• $500 will be paid on the pay period following your 30-day anniversary
• $1000 will be paid on the pay period following your 90-day anniversary
• $1000 will be paid on the pay period following your 180-day anniversary
• $1000 will be paid on the pay period following your one-year anniversary

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, occasional Saturday, and Holiday work.
• Shifts range from 8-12 hours a day
• 40 hours per week, overtime is required
