What You’ll Do
As Director of Nursing, you will serve as the clinical leader of the facility—overseeing all nursing operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of excellence in resident care.
Clinical Leadership & Operations
- Direct and oversee all nursing services in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Lead, mentor, and develop nursing staff to ensure high performance and accountability
- Conduct daily rounds to monitor resident care, staff performance, and overall clinical outcomes
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels to meet the needs of residents
Quality & Compliance
- Maintain survey readiness and oversee plans of correction
- Ensure compliance with infection control, HIPAA, and all regulatory standards
- Coordinate Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives
- Monitor clinical practices to ensure residents are treated with dignity, respect, and compassion
Resident Care & Coordination
- Oversee resident assessments, care planning, and ongoing evaluation of care
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care
- Participate in admissions and evaluate prospective residents for appropriate placement
- Provide education and support to residents and families as needed
Staff Development & Engagement
- Oversee recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and retention of nursing staff
- Implement and maintain orientation and ongoing education programs
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching, counseling, and discipline as needed
- Promote a positive work environment that supports teamwork and professional growth
Administrative & Financial Oversight
- Assist in developing and managing the nursing department budget
- Review billing processes, including Medicare-related documentation
- Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure proper documentation practices
- Update and maintain nursing policies and procedures in accordance with regulations
What We’re Looking For
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state-specific)
- Current BLS certification (AHA Healthcare Provider preferred)
- Previous Director of Nursing experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or Long-Term Care (LTC) setting preferred
- Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations
- Proven leadership, organizational, and clinical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Commitment to quality care, compliance, and team development
