Lee’s Summit, MO – Full Time Position (Monday – Friday)
Lakewood Property Owners Association, Inc. is a large homeowners association focused on maintaining financial stability, preserving property values, and providing quality services/amenities to its members. We are seeking an experienced financial professional to oversee and manage all accounting operations.
Position Summary
The Controller is responsible for the overall financial management of the Association, including accounting operations, budgeting, and internal controls. This role works closely with the General Manager and Finance Committee to ensure transparency, accuracy, and long-term financial health.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivable, monthly financial statements
- Process bi-weekly payroll, related HR activities and reporting
- Oversee and manage the Association’s insurance policies, renewals, and claims coordination
- Assist in the development of the annual budget
- Monitor cash flow, reserves, and investments
- Coordinate annual audits and work with external auditors
- Implement and maintain internal financial controls and processes
- Supervise accounting staff
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5 years of accounting/finance experience, with supervisory experience preferred
- Experience in real estate or property management is a plus
- High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Strong analytical, organizational, leadership and communication skills
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel
