Duties
- Perform comprehensive periodontal examinations and develop personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs
- Conduct advanced procedures such as periodontal surgeries, tissue grafts, and dental implant placements with precision and care
- Assist in or perform complex dental extractions and oral surgeries, ensuring patient comfort and safety
- Collaborate with general dentists and specialists to coordinate comprehensive patient care, including pediatric dentistry when applicable
- Maintain accurate medical and dental records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and office policies
- Utilize dental imaging technology to diagnose periodontal issues effectively and plan appropriate interventions
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, disease prevention, and post-treatment care to promote long-term oral health
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques
- Proficiency with dental software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, and Dentrix for documentation and patient management
- Strong background in general dentistry procedures including root canal therapy, dental fabrication, and prosthodontics
- Experience performing dental extractions, root planing, scaling, and other periodontal treatments
- Familiarity with medical imaging techniques relevant to dental diagnostics and treatment planning
- Ability to assess patient needs thoroughly through patient care and assessment skills; excellent communication skills for patient education
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards to ensure confidentiality and compliance
