Seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to support our Optometrist in providing comprehensive eye care, conducting advanced diagnostics, assisting with treatments and ensuring efficient patient flow in a busy clinic setting. Description:

Assists the doctor with patient care, performing diagnostic tests (visual acuity, IOP, retinal photos, OCT, ERG, visual fields), taking health histories, documenting exam findings into Electronic Medical Records, educating patients on care/medications, assisting in procedure, managing equipment, and handling scheduling/records, while emphasizing compassion, strong communication, and attention to detail for a smooth clinic flow.

Key Responsibilities

-Patient Care & History: Greet patients, take detailed medical/ocular histories and chief complaint, explain testing and procedures, and provide comfort/support.

-Diagnostic Testing: Perform visual acuity, auto-refractometry, IOP, retinal photos, corneal topography, OCT, ERG, visual fields, cataract surgery measurements, and other tests.

-Clinical Assistance: Assist during procedures such as lipiflow, lacrifill, and help with specialty contact lens fittings.

-Equipment & Office Management: Sterilize instruments, maintain equipment and supplies, manage patient flow, and handle scheduling/record-keeping.

-Patient Education: Instruct patients on eye care, treatment plans, and proper use of eyewear/contact lenses.

Key Skills & Qualifications

-Technical Skills: Proficient with diagnostic instruments (retinal camera, OCT, visual field, and others), EMR/EHR systems, and sterilization.

-Soft Skills: Excellent interpersonal communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities: compassionate and empathetic.

-Credentials: High School diploma (required);

experience in ophthalmology/optometry or related field

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
