Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit insurance claims using appropriate coding systems such as CPT, ICD-10codes.
- Review medical records to verify diagnosis and procedure details for accurate billing.
- Manage accounts receivable by following up on unpaid or denied claims through medical collections processes.
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations related to medical billing and coding.
- Maintain detailed and organized medical records in EMR/EHR systems for audit purposes.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation or coding discrepancies.
- Stay updated on changes in medical coding standards, insurance policies, and billing regulations.
- Assist in resolving patient billing inquiries and provide excellent customer service when needed.
Skills
- Proficiency in CPT coding and ICD-10 coding standards.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and medical records management.
- Experience with medical billing processes and medical collection procedures.
- Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems.
