Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans.
- Take X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong oral health.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and office protocols.
- Follow infection control procedures using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination within the dental clinic environment.
Experience
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, dental coding, and documentation review is essential.
- Familiarity with infection control standards, sterilization procedures, and aseptic techniques ensures safe practice standards.
- Demonstrated ability to perform patient care tasks efficiently while maintaining excellent communication skills.
- Certification as a licensed Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations is mandatory.
