What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dishwasher/Seasonal position at Lakewood Country Club?
Job Summary: Dishwashers is a starting position in the kitchen, ability to work to take on some janitorial and supportive kitchen tasks, such as bussing tables, washing dishes and appliances, emptying trash receptacles, scrubbing floors, restocking items, and performing other tasks to ensure that the kitchen areas are clean. Ability in supporting the senior kitchen staff, contributing to the overall efficiency and quality of the kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensuring the availability of clean dishes by washing dishes, pots, pans, and flatware, and storing equipment in the proper areas.
2. Preparing kitchen areas for next shift by cleaning and restocking plates, silverware, sweeping and mopping floors.
3. Cleaning machines and appliances are used in the kitchen, such as pots, pans, mixers and equipment.
4. Commercial dishwashers are not always able to accommodate larger pans and pots so they may occasionally need to be washed by hand.
5. Unloading and storing deliveries.
6. Sweeping and mopping floors, especially in the event that items are broken or spilled.
7. Taking out the trash, recycling boxes and rinsing garbage cans
8. Assisting supervisor or Chefs on preparations for the events/ parties.
9. Supporting other restaurant staff members by assisting with other tasks, as needed.
10. Reporting kitchen accidents or violations of food safety codes and procedures.
- Prep work
- Washing work areas, refrigerators, cooking equipment, walls and floors
- Assembling, maintaining and breaking down the dish machine
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred but not always required
- Ability to stand or walk for 8 hours or more and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong time management, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds several times a day
- Ability to place cases, pans, utensils and plates on both low and high shelves
- Ability to work in hot and damp environments
- Ability to respond to emergency situations to avoid endangering themselves or others
· Adherence to food safety and sanitation procedures is essential.
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
