Lifeguard/Pool Attendant (Seasonal)

Qualifications for all positions include the ability to work as a team member within this department AND all other departments, reliable transportation, valid driver’s license with good record, working outdoors in all kinds of weather conditions, walking, sitting, or standing for extended periods of time, including pushing, pulling, climbing, bending, or lifting up to 50 pounds. Some positions may require lifting more than 50 pounds. While an individual may be assigned to this particular role, situations may arise which would REQUIRE assistance in other areas or departments.

For all positions in this department, safety responsibilities are to promote a safe work environment using proper safety equipment, take responsibility for personal safety while carrying out assigned tasks and inform supervisor of any work-related injuries, hazards, or concerns at time of occurrence.

Lifeguard Requirements & Expectations:

· Must be at least 16 years old

· Must meet the physical requirements for lifeguard certification (Provided by Lakewood Camping Resort) – to become certified:

o You must be able to swim 300 yards continuously

o Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs

o Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds

*Pool attendants must meet the same age requirement but are not required to be certified*

Expectations for all positions include the ability to follow written and oral instructions in a professional and timely manner, perform general duties as assigned by supervisor and positively communicate with all guests as well as co-workers. One must have a positive attitude and ability to maintain confidentiality of Company business and be able to work weekends, holidays or overtime as deemed necessary by supervisor. This person must also be able to work well with others and be a team player and have reliable transportation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of Lakewood’s guests

· Politely enforce all aquatic area rules and policies

· Provide first aid and emergency medical aid to guests in a timely and professional manner

· Follow all required safety procedures

· Maintain all lifeguard and safety equipment and supplies

· May be asked to perform other duties in other departments as assigned by supervisor or manager

Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
