Bicycle Attendant
Qualifications for all positions include the ability to work as a team member within this department AND all other departments, reliable transportation, valid driver’s license with good record, working outdoors in all kinds of weather conditions, walking, sitting or standing for extended periods of time, including pushing, pulling, climbing, bending, or lifting up to 50 pounds. Some positions may require lifting more than 50 pounds. While an individual may be assigned to this role, situations may arise which would REQUIRE assistance in other areas or departments.
Position Summary
The Bicycle Attendant is responsible for providing excellent guest service through the rental, maintenance, and organization of bicycles. This role ensures that all bicycles are safe, clean, and ready for use while creating a welcoming and enjoyable experience for guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner and assist with bicycle rentals
- Explain rental procedures, pricing, safety guidelines, and resort policies
- Fit guests with appropriate bicycles and safety equipment (e.g., helmets)
- Inspect bicycles before and after each use to ensure proper working condition
- Perform basic maintenance such as inflating tires, lubricating chains, and adjusting seats/brakes
- Clean and organize bicycles and rental area daily
- Accurately complete rental transactions and maintain records
- Monitor rental inventory and report damages or repairs needed
- Enforce safety rules and ensure guests understand proper bicycle use
- Respond promptly to guest questions, concerns, or issues
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Assist with other recreation or guest service duties as needed
· May be asked to perform other duties in other departments as assigned by supervisor or manager
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous customer service experience preferred
- Basic mechanical knowledge of bicycles is a plus
- Ability to handle cash and operate point-of-sale systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Friendly, outgoing, and service-oriented attitude
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift and move bicycles (up to 40–50 lbs)
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
Work Schedule
- Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and peak resort seasons
- Hours may vary based on occupancy and weather conditions
