What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Specialist III position at Lakeview Specialty Hosp?
To maintain the building and grounds in a safe and secure condition, to provide the proper environment for patients/residents, families, staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in maintaining compliance with all local, State and Federal regulations. Report any non-compliance to supervisor or Safety Director.
- Attend formal training/education to improve and/or advance position skills
- Perform building maintenance including rough carpentry, painting, and dry wall and ceiling repair.
- Perform routine grounds work including mowing, trimming, and raking, sweeping, spraying, watering, planting, and other duties as required.
- Perform floor care through maintaining floor surfaces (polishing, waxing, repairing, extracting and cleaning).
- Performs minor electrical, plumbing and mechanical repairs including electric bed installation, removal; carpentry, and other repairs
- Participate in department meetings, fire drills, elopement and other disaster drills
- Properly use, store and dispose of Hazardous, flammable and combustible chemicals and materials.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Physical Plant
Qualifications:
Skill, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Able to read and write in English.
- Ability to rotate shifts and days off as required to perform assignments.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patients/residents.
- Emotional stability necessary to perform essential functions in patient/ resident areas.
- Knowledge of fire and safety codes, JCAHO requirements, state and federal regulations as related to plant operations.
Education: High School, with some vocational/technical school/apprentice training.
Licensure: Minimum - Valid Drivers License with clean driving record
Experience: Minimum – Two years related service.
