Lakeview Rehab and Nursing is looking for a compassionate, dependable Medication Technician to join our nursing team.
As a Medication Technician, you will help ensure residents receive their medications safely and on time while also providing hands-on support, encouragement, and compassionate care. You will work closely with nurses, CNAs, and other members of the care team to help residents remain comfortable, safe, and as independent as possible.
This is a great opportunity for someone who is organized, attentive to detail, and passionate about caring for older adults.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications safely and accurately under the direction of a licensed nurse.
- Follow physician orders, medication administration records, and facility procedures.
- Document medication administration accurately and promptly.
- Report medication refusals, side effects, changes in condition, or other concerns to the nurse.
- Take and record vital signs as assigned.
- Assist residents with everyday activities and personal care when needed.
- Help residents stay comfortable, clean, safe, and as independent as possible.
- Get to know the residents you care for and provide companionship and encouragement.
- Communicate clearly with residents, families, nurses, and other team members.
- Follow infection control, resident safety, confidentiality, and abuse prevention requirements.
Qualifications
- Must meet all Montana requirements to administer medications in a skilled nursing facility.
- Current medication technician or medication aide credential is preferred.
- CNA certification is preferred.
- Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, assisted living, memory care, or another healthcare setting is helpful.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow medication orders accurately.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Dependability and good communication skills.
- Compassion and patience when working with older adults.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including assisting residents with mobility and transfers.
