How you can help:
We are looking for an
Applications Engineer who supports the development of engineered product solutions by working closely with customers, Sales, and internal teams. A key responsibility is generating accurate quotes, including those involving ITAR-controlled work, and providing technical expertise throughout the quoting and product development process. This role participates in customer calls and onsite visits alongside the Sales team to clarify requirements, understand application needs, and strengthen long-term customer relationships.

- Develop product concepts and solutions based on customer requirements, application needs, and internal capabilities
- Prepare compliant quotes for commercial and ITAR-controlled opportunities using Paperless Parts, evaluating material options, capacity, cost structure, and technical requirements.
- Join customer calls, virtual meetings, and onsite visits with the Sales team to support technical discussions and gather detailed requirements
- Recommend materials, processes, and application solutions based on customer challenges
- Review RFQs, drawings, documents, and specifications to create accurate quotes
- Check customer portals daily for incoming quote requests and required documentation
- Collaborate with Sales and the Solutions group to interpret requirements and determine the most effective product approach
- Coordinate with manufacturing and use ERP/software tools to evaluate manufacturability, yield, and production efficiency
- Participate in internal solution-development meetings, providing technical insights, questions, and suggestions
- Complete drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for parts and products using 3D CAD or Pro/E
- Manage and expand 3D printing capabilities to support prototyping and customer sample requirements
- Identify and interact with material suppliers, including occasional onsite visits
- Research new processes, materials, and equipment to support continuous improvement and product capability growth
- Build and maintain long-term customer relationships through consistent technical support and communication
- Serve as project lead for key opportunities under the direction of Management
- Maintain customer portal activity for RFQs, submissions, and compliance documentation
- Assist with Engineering Change Notice (ECN) completion
- Ensure all communication, quoting, and technical activities comply with ITAR and export-control regulations
- Other duties as assigned
What you need to be successful:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field
- 3-5 years of previous experience in similar role preferred
- Proficiency with CAD tools for drawing and modeling
- Strong communication skills with the ability to support customer-facing interactions in partnership with Sales
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving ability
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
- Interest in continuous improvement and openness to learning new tools, materials, and processes
- Willingness to travel occasionally with Sales to customer or supplier locations
- Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual)
- Ability to review and handle ITAR-controlled data in accordance with export-control requirements
