Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient-centered care, ensuring safety, and supporting treatment plans in accordance with established standards and protocols. Duties
- Provide comprehensive nursing care by performing physical examinations, vital sign assessments, and patient evaluations using advanced medical terminology and physiology knowledge.
- Administer medications and injections accurately, including IV infusions and medication management in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Cerner or Epic to document patient information, medical records, and treatment plans efficiently.
- Assist with diagnostic procedures including laboratory specimen collection, processing, and diagnostic evaluation using aseptic techniques.
- Support patients through complex procedures such as catheterization, suturing, wound care, ostomy care, and ventilator management.
- Coordinate discharge planning and case management activities for diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, behavioral health patients, and individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations in acute care environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or ICU settings; perform airway management and acute pain management as needed.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes across medical-surgical units, ICU, PICU, or hospice & palliative medicine programs.
Qualifications
- Valid RN license with current registration in the relevant state or jurisdiction.
- Demonstrated experience working in hospital medicine, emergency medicine, critical care transport, or specialized units such as neonatal ventilator or trauma medicine.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems including Cerner and Athenahealth; familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining patient safety.
- Experience performing physical examinations, laboratory testing (phlebotomy), specimen collection/processing, and diagnostic evaluation.
- Ability to manage complex cases involving acute pain management, medication administration, tube feeding, and ventilator support.
- Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities or in long-term care settings such as nursing homes or assisted living facilities is advantageous.
