This role is employed by Lakeview Clinic and works in direct collaboration with the Altera Digital Health Global Managed Services team and the on-site IT Support Technician.
Job Summary: As the Client-Site IT Infrastructure Specialist, you will serve as the senior on-site technical resource, responsible for proficient, hands-on support across the client’s desktop, systems, and network infrastructure. This is a senior technical role for a versatile professional capable of independently resolving issues and serving as the primary point of technical collaboration with our Managed Services Provider (MSP), Altera Digital Health. You will work in partnership with the on-site IT Support Technician, handling advanced escalations and ensuring the seamless execution of IT projects and daily operations. This role is focused on high-level technical contribution and effective teamwork, not formal leadership.
Essential Functions & Major Job Responsibilities: This role demands proficiency across three core IT domains, with an emphasis on independent problem-solving and collaboration.
Proficient Multi-Domain Infrastructure Support:
Systems: Independently manage, maintain, and troubleshoot on-site server hardware and operating systems (Windows Server). Collaboration with MSP on patching, conduct health checks, and manage Active Directory (user accounts, groups, GPOs).
Network: Proficiently troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues. Configure switches, manage VLANs, and support wireless infrastructure. Serve as the on-site technical lead for network-related incidents and projects.
Desktop: Act as the primary on-site escalation point for all desktop support issues. Resolve complex hardware, software, and operating system problems that require advanced technical knowledge.
Collaboration & Technical Escalation:
Serve as the primary on-site technical point of contact for the Altera MSP, ensuring a clear and effective flow of information.
Work collaboratively with the on-site IT Support Technician, handling technical issues that are escalated due to their complexity.
Partner with the Altera MSP to execute on-site IT projects, including hardware refreshes, software deployments, and infrastructure upgrades.
Translate technical directives from the MSP into actionable on-site tasks
Proactive Environment Management:
Identify recurring technical issues and perform root cause analysis to develop and implement lasting solutions.
Ensure all on-site infrastructure adheres to established security and compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA).
Maintain comprehensive documentation of the on-site environment, including network diagrams, standard operating procedures, and inventory.
Job Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
Work Experience:
Required: 5-7 years of progressive experience in an IT support role, demonstrating proficient, hands-on skills across systems, network, and desktop administration.
Required: Experience acting as a technical escalation point for peers or junior team members. Preferred: Experience working in a co-managed environment with an MSP.
Preferred: Direct experience in a healthcare IT environment is highly desirable.
Certifications (Must-have at least one, others strongly preferred):
Required: CompTIA Network , CompTIA Security , CCNA, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (or equivalent).
Strongly Preferred: CompTIA A , Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Technical Proficiency (All Proficient):
Systems: Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and server hardware.
Networking: In-depth understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and wireless networking. Hands-on experience with enterprise-level network hardware.
Desktop: Expertise in troubleshooting Windows 10/11, Microsoft Office Suite, and deploying/managing endpoints.
Collaboration: A strong, collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team environment with on-site and remote colleagues.
Problem-Solving: Advanced analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex, multi-faceted technical issues independently.
Working Arrangements & Physical Demands:
Work Arrangement: This is a primarily on-site position based at the client facility to provide advanced hands-on support.
On-Call Support: Will serve as a primary escalation point for the on-site on-call rotation.
Must be able to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs. and perform tasks requiring physical installation of hardware in server rooms and offices.
Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching, bending, stooping, carrying and speaking.
Frequent use of computer, keyboard, phone, copy and fax machines.
Compensation and Benefits: Salary Range: $75,000 – $95,000 per year Compensation decisions are made based off several factors including relevant work experience, education, certification, and licensure as well as internal equity.
