Lakeview Bar & Grill is looking for the right person to step into a hands-on Restaurant & Bar Manager position.

We are a busy, established, family-friendly restaurant and bar located right on Shell Lake. We're looking for someone with restaurant experience who is ready to take on a leadership role and truly become an important part of our operation.

This is a lead by example position. Our ideal manager will be right in the middle of things—bartending, serving, helping the team through a rush, talking with customers and making sure the entire restaurant is running the way it should.

What This Position Looks Like

Our Restaurant & Bar Manager would gradually take ownership of many of our day-to-day front-of-house responsibilities, including:

• Hiring and interviewing new employees
• Training and onboarding new team members
• Creating and maintaining the front-of-house schedule
• Managing servers and bartenders
• Leading the restaurant during night and weekend shifts
• Making sure staff are where they need to be and staying productive
• Handling customer questions and concerns
• Keeping service moving during busy rushes
• Making sure cleaning, closing and side work are completed
• Holding employees accountable while maintaining a positive work environment
• Communicating with ownership about staffing, performance and day-to-day operations

A Working Manager

This is very much a hands-on management position.

Our manager may also work scheduled bartending or serving shifts while overseeing the restaurant. We want someone who is comfortable making drinks behind the bar, taking care of customers and jumping in wherever they're needed—all while keeping an eye on the restaurant as a whole.

There is an opportunity to earn additional tips while working bartending or serving shifts.

The Person We're Looking For

Restaurant experience is important, but we're equally interested in finding someone with the right personality and work ethic.

We're looking for someone who:

• Has strong restaurant, serving and/or bartending experience
• Is confident leading other people
• Is dependable and trustworthy
• Has good common sense and can make decisions without needing constant direction
• Can stay calm and organized when the restaurant gets busy
• Is comfortable addressing problems when they arise
• Can hold employees accountable while still being someone the team enjoys working with
• Notices what needs to be done and does it
• Isn't afraid to jump in and help
• Takes pride in a clean, organized and well-run restaurant
• Communicates well with both employees and ownership

Previous management experience is preferred, but we are willing to consider someone with strong restaurant experience who is ready to take the next step.

Schedule

This position will be primarily nights and weekends.

We do our best to work with our employees' schedules and understand that everyone has a life outside of work. However, because this is a management position, dependable night and weekend availability is an important part of the job.

Lakeview Bar & Grill has been serving Shell Lake and the surrounding area for over 15 years. We're a restaurant first and a bar second, serving everyone from local regulars to families, tourists, lake traffic and large groups.

Compensation will be based on experience and level of responsibility, with the opportunity to earn additional tips while bartending or serving.
