Position Overview
An established Assisted Living Community in Phillips, WII is seeking a dedicated and experienced Chef Manager to lead culinary operations and provide exceptional dining experiences for our senior residents. This role combines hands-on cooking with kitchen leadership, ensuring meals are nutritious, appealing, and tailored to residents’ individual dietary needs.

Key Responsibilities
Meal Preparation & Menu Management
- Plan, prepare, and oversee daily meals in accordance with approved menus.
- Ensure all meals are nutritious, well-balanced, and visually appealing.
- Modify meals to meet special dietary needs, including therapeutic, diabetic, low-sodium, and texture-modified diets.
Kitchen Operations & Leadership
- Supervise and support kitchen staff in food preparation and service.
- Schedule staff, delegate tasks, and promote a positive team environment.
- Maintain efficiency and organization during meal service.
Food Safety & Compliance
- Ensure strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards (ServSafe guidelines).
- Monitor food temperatures, storage, and proper handling procedures.
- Maintain accurate production and sanitation records in compliance with health regulations.
Inventory & Cost Management
- Manage inventory levels, purchasing, and stock rotation (FIFO).
- Control food costs through portioning, waste reduction, and efficient ordering.
- Receive and inspect deliveries to ensure quality standards.
Quality Assurance
- Maintain high standards for food quality, taste, and presentation.
- Conduct routine checks and taste testing to ensure consistency and resident satisfaction.
Resident Engagement & Service
- Interact with residents in a friendly, respectful manner.
- Respond to dietary preferences and feedback to enhance the dining experience.
- Help create a warm, welcoming dining environment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Chef, Cook Supervisor, or Chef Manager, preferably in assisted living, healthcare, or senior services.
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, nutrition, and food safety practices.
- Experience with special diets and dietary restrictions is highly preferred.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Compassionate attitude and genuine interest in working with seniors.
Education & Certifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain upon hire) preferred.
- Culinary training or related experience is a plus.
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
