Automation Engineer
The Automation Engineer is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving automated manufacturing systems to support safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing processes within the facility. This role works closely with operations and maintenance, teams minimizing downtime, improving process reliability, and support continuous improvement initiatives. This role will also have responsibility over developing and implementing solutions.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair automated equipment including PLC-controlled machinery, robotic systems, conveyors, and CNC-related automation
- Diagnosing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic system issues in a manufacturing environment
- Support PLCs, HMIs, sensors, VFDs, servos, and industrial networks
- Assist with programming changes, backups, and documentation for automation systems
- Perform preventative maintenance on automated equipment to reduce downtime
- Support new equipment installation, startup, and commissioning
- Work with engineering and production teams to improve cycle times, uptime, and process capability
- Follow all safety, lockout/tagout, and company procedures
- Maintain accurate maintenance and automation documentation
- Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
Qualifications
- Associate degree or technical certification in Automation, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2 years of experience in industrial automation
- Working knowledge of PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar)
- Experience with industrial electrical systems (480V, control circuits, sensors, safety devices)
- Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Salary : $95,000 - $115,000
