Production Lead - Traffic Safety
Job Summary:
We are looking for a Production Lead who is eager to coordinate team activity and drive operational excellence in our Traffic Safety Division. This candidate will effectively oversee and direct the work of their shift in the machine operation and production of Lakeside Plastics products. This is a fast paced and physical position which requires the ability to multi-task. Efficiency, attention to detail, and solid communication skills are essential for this role. The Production Lead will follow standard work procedures and practices; as well as participate in and enforce safe work habits to ensure an efficient and safe working environment.
Responsibilities/Tasks:
- Communicate and align with Division Supervisor, Leads, and Sales regarding production status and any production, mechanical, safety, inventory or personnel issues
- Direct, delegate, and monitor work based on production schedule and available staff to ensure maximum efficiency
- Enforce operational procedures and work instructions to ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality standards
- Provide real-time feedback to and coach employees in a respectful and encouraging manner
- Inspect the output of team members to ensure goods pass quality standards
- Update Division Supervisor on employee performance and assist in reviews
- Appropriately motivate employees to drive efficiency and employee morale
- Operate all machine controls, including but not limited to start up/shutdown procedures and changing settings, pour times, pumps and hoses
- Record/track the number of items and scrap produced and any changes machine setting
- Perform color changes according to procedures
- Periodically back up employees on the line in terms of pulling cones, etc
- Follow shutdown procedures for fire pump and electric and gas lines in emergency situation
Requirements:
- 2 year of leadership experience preferred
- Prior experience in manufacturing or related industry is required.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Must be able to work in a warehouse type environment with heat and frequent dust and loud noises
- Must maintain a high level of confidentiality when involved in personnel matters with Division Supervisor/HR
- Must have basic computer skills and be able to perform basic calculations
- Have the ability to squat, bend, twist, work in high places, climb stairs multiple times per shift
- Able to operate a forklift (Lakeside Certified)
- Excellent attendance is necessary
- Able to lift up to 60 pounds regularly
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and criminal background checkDisclaimer:
