Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of meals, adhering to dietary guidelines and safety standards
- Serve food and beverages to residents or guests in a courteous, timely manner, ensuring excellent customer service
- Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, kitchens, and food service equipment through regular cleaning and sanitizing procedures
- Follow food safety protocols, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitizing procedures to prevent contamination
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, dishwashers, and POS systems for processing transactions
- Support manual handling tasks such as weight lifting of supplies or food items while maintaining proper ergonomic practices
- Collaborate with culinary staff to ensure dietary needs are met and special requests are accommodated
Skills
- Prior experience in healthcare dining, restaurant, catering, or hospitality environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety management practices
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Strong customer service skills with in-person interaction experience
- Basic math skills for measuring ingredients or handling financial transactions
- Ability to handle weight in the workplace safely and effectively
- Excellent cleaning skills and understanding of food safety sanitizing procedures
- Previous dietary aide or food industry experience is preferred but not required
