We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accurate coding, and facilitating smooth transactions between healthcare providers and insurance companies. This role is crucial in maintaining the financial health of our medical practice while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
Responsibilities
- Accurately code medical records using ICD-10 and other relevant coding systems.
- Process billing claims for various medical services and procedures.
- Review patient records to ensure all necessary information is included for billing purposes.
- Manage accounts receivable and follow up on unpaid claims or outstanding balances.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve any discrepancies in billing or coding.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, coding guidelines, and regulations related to medical billing.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Assist in the preparation of reports related to billing activities and collections.
Requirements
- Proven experience in medical billing, coding, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, DRG (Diagnosis Related Group), and systems used in medical billing processes.
- Familiarity with medical collection practices and procedures within a medical office environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with patients, providers, and insurance representatives.
- Certification in medical billing or coding is a plus but not mandatory.

Seeking full time applicant. High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Neurology practice at Northside Forsyth Hospital. Office hours Monday -Friday 800 am-4:30 pm. (No weekends!) Must have strong organizational and computer skills. Applicant must be extremely detail oriented, capable of multi-tasking and possess great people skills. Also must be a good team player and self starter... As our new Full Time medical biller your duties include but are not limited to: Registration and data intake, answering phones , routing calls, taking messages and entering into our EHR (Allscripts/Veridigm), scheduling patients ,canceling and rescheduling patients as well, when needed. A big plus if you have worked with Allscripts/Veradigm, but not a must. Please provide 3 references and resume to be considered.
