Medical Assistant I/Dermatology

Position Summary:

The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting clinic operations with greeting patients, taking vitals,
assisting providers with procedures and tests, and performing miscellaneous tasks. The Medical Assistant is
responsible for ensuring patients are seen and cared for according to the scope of their training.

A. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
1. MAs are expected to assist all other MAs in building and improving skills in all areas
2. Greets patient warmly upon arrival and/or when rooming patients
3. Stock exam rooms with supplies and maintain inventory
4. Perform CLIA Waived Testing
5. Perform all quality assurance and all quality control processes
6. Maintains medical supplies and cleaning/sterilization of the medical instruments and
equipment
7. Prepares specimen samples for laboratory transportation
8. Notes the brief history or the reason for the visit in the patient's chart
9. Takes and records height, weight, and blood pressure, pulse rate, respiration, temperature, and notifies the provider of unusual changes
11. Takes health and family history
12. Administers treatment, medications, and injections as ordered by the provider and documents
appropriately
14. Prepares and drapes patients for examinations
15. Ensures patients have been properly instructed using approved written instructions, regarding
proper preparations for tests/procedures ordered by the provider
17. Assists the provider with the patient examinations, treatment, and surgical procedures
18. Completes all charting by the end of each day

19. Additional duties as assigned by management.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be $21/hour- $22/hour; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, licensure, skills, and experience.

The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.

Education and/or Experience:

1. High school/GED strongly preferred

2. Graduation from an accredited medical assisting program is required
3. Ability to read/write in English, and follow written instructions
4. General computer knowledge around navigation and Microsoft tools required (Office, Word,
Excel)
5. BLS Certification required within 30 days of employment
