Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines
- Ensure meals are served on time, at proper temperatures, and with appropriate presentation
- Follow portion control standards and safe food-handling practices
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, equipment, and work areas in compliance with health and safety standards
- Assist with food preparation, tray assembly, meal service, and cleanup as needed
- Support inventory management, food storage, and supply rotation
- Work collaboratively with the Dietary Manager and team to meet resident needs and preferences
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior experience as a cook in healthcare, hospitality, or restaurant settings preferred
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures required
- Ability to read and follow recipes and dietary instructions
- Dependable, team-oriented, and able to work independently when needed
- Willingness to assist with dietary aide duties as required
