GENERAL SUMMARY:
Supply packaging line with boxes and product necessary for run. Accurately record case totals on pallets, record unused product and return unused product to canned warehouse in proper location.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Fill out forklift checklist with needed information of condition of forklift on every shift.
- Perform routine maintenance on lift truck, such as adding oil and cleaning.
- Examine schedule for the shift of product to be run.
- Make sure correct lot is staged and ready to run.
- Place product on depal so depal operator can fill line prior to start up (approximately 15 minutes before start up). Examine all brite loads to ensure they are squared up before placing on infeed track. Check that plastic wrap is only on one layer of cans.
- Supply the line with pallet and boxes according to the order.
- Place a pallet ticket on each pallet of finished product.
- Pull finished pallet of cases from stacker and wrap pallet by using a stretch wrap machine. Put finished product in proper warehouse locations and record location on the label work order or order staging board as required.
- Remove pallets and various supplies from the depal area to designated area in warehouse. These supplies and pallets are to be stored per set procedures.
- Make dumpster available and empty when necessary.
- Remove partial unused brite pallets from the depal. Verify that the correct case count is written on the pallet ticket and return the pallet to its proper location. The pallet ticket location and the computer location should be the same. If a location discrepancy occurs, notify the supervisor.
- Complete all paper work to ensure inventory and location accuracy.
- Must be able to operate a forklift in a safe and efficient manner without damage to product, materials or other objects.
- Monitor the location of brite product to ensure accuracy and notify supervisor of any problems.
- Inform the supervisor when supplies need to be ordered while maintaining new pack at warehouse.
- Load and unload in the outside Warehouses.
- Keep work area and warehouse in good housekeeping order.
- May perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
- Adhere to all Lakeside Foods policies and procedures.
- If unsafe working conditions are observed, notify the supervisor immediately.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Knowledge:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- One to three years forklift driving experience.
- Must pass Lakeside forklift operator's exam.
Language:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written and oral instructions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee must regularly get off lift to wrap and ticket finished case goods.
- The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
