Join the Lakeside Foods team and be part of a tradition of excellence. We're looking for a skilled Refrigeration Technician to support our operations and ensure our equipment runs safely and efficiently.
What You'll Do:- Operating ammonia refrigeration equipment.
- Inspecting and testing machinery for proper function.
- Diagnosing mechanical issues by listening for unusual sounds and collaborating with team members.
- Dismantling and repairing defective machines and installing new parts.
- Cleaning and lubricating machinery components.
- Installing and repairing electrical apparatus and components.
- Assembling and maintaining pipe systems, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
- Troubleshooting facility mechanical and refrigeration systems.
- Operating machine tools (lathe, grinder, drill, milling machine) for repairs and fabrication.
- Using welding and cutting torch equipment.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience operating ammonia refrigeration systems (Freon experience also considered).
- Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions.
- Proficiency in reading mechanical drawings, electrical and pneumatic schematics, and parts terminology.
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift/move up to 100 lbs.
- Must have vision capabilities including close, distance, peripheral, and focus adjustment.
- Willingness to wear OSHA-approved full-face respirator (filtered air and SCBA).
