What are the responsibilities and job description for the A La Carte Server position at Lakeside Country Club?
Job Summary: As a Waiter, your role is to deliver an exceptional dining experience to our members and their guests. It is important that we never take their attendance in our dining room for granted as they chose to dine with us. The best way we can show our gratitude is through exceptional service. To best assist you in accomplishing this, we have provided you with the following service standards to ensure you are set up for success.
A bad meal can be fixed with good service, but bad service cannot be fixed by a good meal.
Job Duties:
- Arrive on time; be neat, clean and in proper uniform
- Attend daily line up for lunch and dinner, as scheduled
- Check station assignments and write down reservations in your section
- Have a deep understanding of the menu and be able to articulate the specials
- Partner with your Back Waiter to perfect your section
- Check reservations for children
- If any noted celebrations, ensure we have cake/birthday dessert on hand
- Attends pre-meal meetings as requested by the Assistant Manager or Assistant Dining Room Manager
- Greet members/guests within two minutes of Hostess departure
- Make sure menus have been delivered
- Follow the steps of service and detailed service standards that are provided during your training period
- POS
- Farewell and departure
- Advises supervisor of any complaints as soon as they occur
- Assist Back Waiter in resetting tables
- Polish wine glasses and perform closing duties as assigned by Assistant Manager, Assistant Dining Manager, or Manager on Duty
- Close out all tabs correctly and place in proper order
- Check out with MOD and obtain a signature on checkout once all side duties are complete
- Ensure rooms are set for next meal, event, etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong oral communication skills
- Ability to recognize members by name
- Ability to lift and carry food and dish trays
Education & Experience
Minimum high school education or equivalent
Minimum of three years' experience, preferably in fine dining restaurant, hotel or private club
TABC Certification
Servsafe Certification

Experience:
- fine dining restaurant, hotel or private club: 3 years (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- TABC Certified (Preferred)
