Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and nurturing Floater Teacher to join our vibrant childcare and preschool team. Duties
- Support multiple classrooms by assisting teachers with daily activities, lesson planning, and classroom management across all age groups, from toddlers to preschoolers.
- Implement curriculum development strategies that foster literacy education, math skills, physical education, and social-emotional growth aligned with early childhood education standards.
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote childhood development milestones, including early intervention techniques and special education accommodations when necessary.
- Assist with classroom setup, including lesson preparation, educational materials organization, and maintaining a clean, safe environment for children.
- Manage behavior effectively using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage cooperation and social skills among children.
- Support classroom routines such as meal times, nap schedules, diapering or potty training, and transitions between activities.
- Communicate regularly with parents and staff about children's progress, behavior, and any concerns related to child welfare or developmental needs.
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities related to Montessori methods, standardized testing preparation, tutoring strategies, and early childhood best practices.
- Contribute to a collaborative team environment by sharing insights on curriculum effectiveness and classroom dynamics.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and licensing requirements for daycare and private school settings.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in daycare or preschool environments is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and experience with behavior management techniques.
- Familiarity with curriculum development including literacy education, math instruction, physical education, and Montessori methods is advantageous.
- Experience supporting special education needs or early intervention programs is a plus.
- Strong communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members effectively.
- Classroom management skills to create an organized and nurturing learning environment.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing classroom needs while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid preferred but not mandatory; willingness to obtain certification upon hire is acceptable.
