Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations, vital signs, and health histories to determine diagnosis and treatment plans.
- Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with state and federal regulations, including DEA guidelines for controlled substances.
- Perform advanced procedures such as suturing, IV infusions, catheterizations, and dermal filler injections while maintaining sterile technique.
- Manage acute and chronic conditions across multiple specialties including gastroenterology, critical care, emergency medicine, geriatrics, and behavioral health.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for documentation, order entry, and care coordination.
- Collaborate seamlessly with physicians, specialists, nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop integrated treatment plans.
- Engage in telehealth consultations to extend access to care and improve patient outcomes remotely.
Qualifications
- Valid Family Nurse Practitioner license with current certification from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
- Demonstrated experience working in diverse clinical settings such as hospital medicine, emergency rooms, ICU/critical care units, or outpatient clinics.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Athenahealth; experience with medical documentation and coding including CPT and ICD-10 is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, pharmacology, anatomy, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Experience performing procedures such as suturing, venipuncture (phlebotomy), sterile processing techniques, and tube feeding management.
- Familiarity with specialties including gastroenterology, hospice & palliative medicine, occupational health, infectious disease care, senior & memory care or neonatal/infant care is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments such as trauma centers or Level I/II trauma centers; ICU or emergency room experience is preferred.
- Excellent client communication skills with a passion for delivering compassionate patient care across all age groups—including pediatrics and geriatrics—while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
