Position Overview

The Workers’ Compensation Administrator will serve as the primary subject matter expert for the organization’s workers’ compensation program. This individual will be responsible for end-to-end claims management, ensuring compliance, coordinating with vendors, and driving process improvements. While some exposure to leave of absence and ADA administration is helpful, the primary focus is workers’ compensation.

This role is ideal for a high-level contractor who can quickly step in, identify gaps, and provide expert-level support in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Workers’ Compensation Administration (Primary Focus – ~80%)

  • Manage all aspects of workers’ compensation claims, including employee and supervisor communication, claim tracking, and resolution
  • Partner with claims adjusters, medical providers, and third-party administrators to ensure effective case management
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with OSHA reporting requirements (including OSHA 300A and 301 logs)
  • Oversee incident reporting processes, including timely submission of first reports of injury
  • Support return-to-work programs and coordinate with leadership and medical providers
  • Analyze claims data and generate regular reports (monthly, quarterly, annually) to identify trends and recommend improvements
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal workers’ compensation laws and regulations
  • Develop and enhance policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Reconcile vendor invoices and ensure accurate payment processing

Leave & ADA Support (Secondary – ~20%)

  • Provide backup support for leave of absence and ADA administration as needed
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align workers’ compensation and leave programs

Required Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in workers’ compensation claims management (primary focus strongly preferred)
  • Working knowledge of leave of absence and ADA administration
  • Strong understanding of state and federal workers’ compensation regulations and OSHA requirements
  • Excellent case management, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally

  • Proven ability to build relationships and influence across departments
  • High School Diploma or GED required

Additional Details

  • Equipment (computer, monitors, and phone) will be provided
  • This role partners closely with HR leadership and shared services teams
  • Ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and able to operate independently with minimal ramp-up time
