POSITION SUMMARY:
The technician will work with faculty, staff, and students to resolve technology related issues including but not limited to: hardware, software, application, and network connectivity. They will assist in planning and facilitation of faculty and staff professional development with respect to the use of technology and technology integration into the classroom.
Ability and desire to work with teachers one-on-one, and in groups, to integrate technology into their classroom and lesson plans. Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems and then develop appropriate solutions while demonstrating strong communication, interpersonal, customer service and analytic skills. Excellent time management and organizational skills are required. Knowledge of Windows, Mac, and IOS operating systems, as well as laptop and computer hardware repair. Associate’s degree or equivalent experience required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Deploy, repair, and maintain computers, laptops and tablet devices
Provide Faculty and staff technology related professional development
Application installation, support & training
Basic trouble shooting of network login and connectivity issues
Update the helpdesk database daily
Assist in inventory control
All other duties as assigned
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: Associates Degree or equivalent experience
CONTINUING EDUCATION: Must be willing to participate in professional development and/or training as required by the State or the school to maintain the position.
EXPERIENCE: Related job field work experience with demonstrated ability to work without constant supervision.
REQUIRED PHYSICAL SKILLS: Ability to sit, stand, walk, ascend/descend stairs, use hands to finger, handle or feel; talk and hear.
REQUIRED GENERAL SKILLS: Exceptional written and oral communication skills; interpersonal, customer service, and analytical skills; exceptional organizational and time management skills; knowledge of Windows, Mac, and IOS operating systems.
This position is considered a full-time and non-exempt position. This position is a year-round position.
