Pay Rate : Min $16.44 Mid $18.42 Position Summary
Works as a member of the unit committed to a common purpose and goals in monitoring each patient with cardiac telemetry and reporting and charting cardiac rhythms and rates. Functions include department specific duties to meet patient safety outcomes in timely reporting of changes and lethal rhythms. Contributes to positive outcomes and meeting goals of providing exceptional healthcare by exhibiting professional behavior and experience in cardiac rhythm identification, calibration, reporting and recording in Cerner. Must identify opportunities for and contribute to the improvement of quality, safety and cost, as well as patient, customer and employee satisfaction.

Competencies & Skills
Essential:
- Complete the cardiac monitor technician orientation training within first six to eight weeks of hire.
- Able to complete cardiac monitor technician post-orientation test with a grade of 85% or higher.
- Knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology with emphasis in recognizing cardiac rhythms.
- Must be able to concentrate for long periods of time, show attention to detail, and communicate clearly and effectively with all staff. Must be able to sit in same place for long periods of time.
- Previous cardiac monitor technician experience.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- High School or Equivalent
Other information: Certifications Essential BLS Certifications Preferred: EKG certification Experience Essential: Must be able to concentrate for long periods of time, show attention to detail, and communicate clearly and effectively with all staff. Must be able to sit in same place for long periods time. Flexibility desired to meet unexpected staffing shortages. Completion of ECG course and telemetry orientation. Initial and annual completion of cardiac monitoring test with minimum score of 85%. Experience Preferred: Will consider training for qualified candidates. (If STEP or PTD) and normally scheduled to work less than 40 hours per pay period, must have minimum of one year full time experience in acute care hospital.)
