The Epic Engineering Manager is responsible for leading a team of highly skilled engineers in the design, implementation, optimization, and support of Epic HER Infrastructure.
This role ensures that Epic environments are stable, scalable, secure, and aligned with organizational and clinical objectives. The manager oversees system integrations, upgrades, disaster recovery, business continuity and performance improvements, while collaborating closely with other IS support teams, clinical and ambulatory teams and leadership to support patient care and operational excellence.
The position requires strong technical expertise in Epic architecture, project management experience, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced healthcare IT environment. The manager will also provide strategic direction for technology initiatives, mentor team members, and ensure adherence to industry best practices and regulatory standards.

- Providing governance activities to ensure budget, timelines, features and quality are being managed appropriately.
- Coordinate the procurement, installation and maintenance of hardware/software systems.
- Remain current within the profession through publications, educational opportunities, and ongoing development within industry engineering.
- Responsible for the leadership, development, recruitment, and mentoring IT System Engineers.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned primarily by the Director of IT.

Competencies & Skills
Essential:
- Strong knowledge of Epic EHR Infrastructure components such as Hyperspace, Hyperdrive, Interconnects, Web BLOB, MyChart Canto, Haiku, Slicer/Dicer, etc.
- Strong competencies in the following technical areas: •Administering Windows and Linux Operating Systems.•Microsoft SQL and ODB Database technologies.•Disaster Recovery and High Availability with on-premise and cloud environments.•Virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V . *App Delivery/Virtualization such as Citrix XenApp
- Solid documentation skills, writing and reporting (project charters, technical design documentation, change management documentation etc.)
- Results oriented and must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, organized, ability to multitask
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage diverse personnel
- Experience in supporting a large scale, distributed compute and network environment with multiple remote locations

- Successfully developed and implemented applications in new computing architecture environments, using new and emerging technologies Understands IT Infrastructure Architecture and how and why they’ve evolved over the last several years.
- Adept with current IT design methodologies but not married to a particular method.
- Open to new design methodologies and technologies if they improve workflow or reliability Extensive experience in design principals and design processes based on industry best practices.
Certification Preferred:
Epic certifications such as ECSA, Epic ODB or any Epic module certification
