Pay Rate : Min $16.44 Mid $17.60Properly prepares, processes, distributes supplies, instruments, trays, and/or equipment to the Operating Room, Patient Care, and specific procedural departments. Prepares, inspects and assembles trays and equipment in a timely manner and according to written procedures and infection control guidelines. The Sterile Processing Technician performs other duties as assigned. Identifies and facilitates opportunities for improvement in the areas of quality care and services, stewardship, employee satisfaction, communication, accountability and customer satisfaction.

- Correctly processes instruments, trays, and equipment according to policies and standards. Disassembles, cleans, and disinfects contaminated instruments and accurately reassembles according to product guidelines, policies and standards.
- Properly prepares, inspects and assembles trays and equipment in a timely manner and according to written procedures and infection control guidelines.
- Correctly sterilizes instruments and trays. Operates and monitors sterilizers, ETO machines system I, washer/disinfectors, and heat sealers according to departmental polices and manufacturers guidelines.
- Reviews daily OR schedule for Laparoscopic cases and accurately pulls and sterilizes trays to meet the daily case needs.
- Consistent in documentation of all activities. Complete trays with instrument list. Documents sterilization activity according to policy. Checks and documents biological testing according to policy.
- Maintains a safe environment for co-workers and customers. Demonstrates adherence to safety standards, blood and body fluid precautions and hand washing. Uses standard precautions and PPE 100% of the time. Consistently acts as an instrument resource person for the Operating Room and specific procedural departments.

Other information:
Experience Essential: Three to five years of experience in professional/technical role or other work appropriate to the team.
Experience Preferred: One to two years of Sterile Processing Department experience. Previous supervisory experience.
