Position Summary
The Certified Educator, reporting to the Manager of Pastoral Care and Education, is responsible for overseeing the education of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) students, including interns and/or residents. This role involves conducting CPE units in alignment with the standards set by the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE). The PRN Certified Educator (CE)is specifically responsible for creating the syllabus for each unit, ensuring it complies with hospital policies and ACPE accreditation requirements. The PRN Certified Educator also conduct student interviews, participate in student hiring, provide orientation, and write student evaluations. In addition, the Certified Educator develops curriculum, supervises students' clinical work, offers educational opportunities, and evaluates student performance. They work closely with staff chaplains who mentor students. The PRN Certified Educator also participates in the Professional Advisory Group's (PAG) program evaluation process. They are accountable for students' delivery of spiritual care to patients, families, and staff. Other duties may be assigned as needed

- Conduct the CPE training program according to ACPE standards, respecting and protecting student’s rights to have a quality CPE Center, designing the syllabus for student-centered learning and evaluating the students’ personal and professional function through verbal and written feedback.
- Practice and follow the compliance of ACPE standards as an Accredited ACPE Center in collaboration with the Director of Pastoral Services and Ethics, the Manager of Pastoral Care Education, the Department Coordinator/CPE Registrar, the Professional Advisory Group and the Pastoral Services Department Coordinator/CPE Registrar.
- Participate in the process of recruiting students, conduct timely admissions interviews, communicate admission decisions, handle application materials in a professional manner, and help lead the orientation process for the new student group.
