### Job Duties

Lakeland PBS has a challenging opportunity for a highly motivated team player to manage the creation, implementation, and maintenance of a unified marketing and communications strategy aligned with our mission, vision, and values. The Marketing & Communications Manager will be responsible for digital content and graphic creation, , management and implementation of Lakeland’s website and online presence, promotion of Lakeland’s services and events, and management and implementation of all aspects of the organization’s print and email marketing and social media presence. Ideally, the candidate will have a strong understanding of the public media ecosystem, be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a small, close-knit team, and thrive in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.

This position will work out of our Bemidji office location. Standard hours are weekdays with some evening and weekend projects required. Salary range is $45,000 to $52,000 annually. We have generous benefits with PTO, sick leave, paid holidays, company paid life insurance, short and long term disability insurance and an additional 21% of salary for flex benefits towards health, retirement, dependent care and flex plan options.

Regular Duties:

General Marketing & Communications

  • Collaborate with Lakeland PBS Management to develop marketing and communications plans to

promote Lakeland’s services – Programming, Production, Special Events, etc.

  • Write, edit, and publish content for Lakeland’s website, email marketing efforts, and printed

bimonthly member highlights publication.

  • Contribute to content development for board meetings, key presentations, and underwriting materials.
  • Manage the development, activation, upkeep and advancement of all Lakeland PBS digital and social media engagement across all platforms including Passport, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and possibly others.
  • Online feedback and data collection
  • Plan and implement online feedback and impact events
  • Manage troubleshooting of any technical issues relating to all social media and digital efforts.

Social Media Management

  • Manage all aspects of Lakeland’s social media presence (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)

including writing posts and creating graphics.

  • Drive strategy to increase target audience’s daily engagement on social media.
  • Increase awareness for Lakeland’s key initiatives and events.

Data & Analytics

  • Monitor, report, and present online engagement analytics (web, email, social media, earned

media).

  • Leverage key engagement metrics across platforms to optimize content, messaging, and

distributions.

### Minimum Education Required

Education & Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field. (An equivalent amount of training, education and experience will also be considered.)
  • 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in communications and/or marketing. Non-profit experience helpful but not required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills.
  • Proven results in implementing marketing and communications strategic plans.
  • Proven results in managing social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, etc.)

and analytics technologies to engage audiences.

  • Familiarity with Wordpress and other CMS platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while managing deadlines.
  • Excellent graphic design skills and experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
