Job Description
Join the YMCA team this summer and make a difference in your community! As a Camp Assistant, you’ll support a dynamic camp program focused on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. This entry-level role is perfect for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience working with children in a fun, active, and supportive environment.
Camp Assistants are exposed to all aspects of camp operations—from activity setup and camper engagement to organizing supplies and supporting themed events.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of daily camp activities, including morning programs and hobby time
- Support lunch supervision, cleanup, and overall camp organization
- Participate in theme days, special events, and camper engagement activities
- Help supervise campers and contribute to a safe, fun, and inclusive environment
- Maintain organization and inventory of camp supplies
- Follow YMCA policies, procedures, and safety standards
- Build positive relationships with campers and staff
- Provide additional support as directed by Camp Leadership

- Must have completed at least 2 years of high school
- Prior experience working with children preferred
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Ability to lead and participate in activities in both indoor and outdoor settings
- Must be able to stay active for the duration of the camp day
