What are the responsibilities and job description for the Press Brake Operator position at Lakeland Companies?
Job Overview: A Press Brake Operator is responsible for forming of simple to medium complexity sheet metal parts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Read and understand part drawings
- Knowledge of material types and gauge thicknesses
- Inspect first and last article and other quality checks as required
- Identify quality issues that may arise and direct them to the supervisor for corrective action
- Ensure that all parts are marked correctly
- Must be safety conscious at all times
Education and/or Experience
- High School diploma or GED
- 2 – 3 years of Press Brake experience a plus
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing production or willingness to learn
- Ability to read a tape measure
- Ability to use quality inspection tools such as caliper, protractor
- Ability to convert decimals to fractions
- Ability to drive a forklift
- Ability to use a computer
- Job involves standing most of the day
Physical Demands
- Job involves standing majority of the day
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
