We are seeking a dedicated and personable Veterinary Receptionist to join our veterinary team in a part-time or full-time capacity. Responsibilities
- Greet clients and their pets warmly, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive experience from check-in to check-out.
- Schedule appointments, manage client records, and coordinate follow-up visits using veterinary software systems.
- Handle medical collections accurately, including processing payments and insurance claims in compliance with relevant regulations such as DEA and USDA guidelines.
- Assist with front desk duties such as answering phone calls, responding to inquiries, and providing information about pet care services.
- Support veterinary staff with administrative tasks related to medical records, laboratory documentation, and inventory management of supplies.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area, ensuring it adheres to sanitation standards and aseptic techniques when necessary.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding treatment plans, medication instructions, and post-operative care instructions while demonstrating knowledge of veterinary terminology.
Requirements
- Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal care environment is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with veterinary software programs and Microsoft Office applications for administrative support.
- Knowledge of animal handling, restraint techniques, and dog training is advantageous for assisting with kennel or pet care tasks when needed.
- Understanding of veterinary critical care procedures, animal anatomy, aseptic techniques, and laboratory procedures enhances performance in this role.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing appointments, billing, and client communication.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with clients, staff, and pet owners from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism at all times.
- Knowledge of drug enforcement regulations (DEA) compliance and USDA regulations related to animal handling and medication administration is desirable.
