Assistant Food & Beverage Manager

Our Assistant Food and Beverage Manager at The Lakehouse Resort assists in overseeing the different functions of the food and beverage areas on the property. This may include Brickmans restaurant at The Links, in-room dining service, Spinnaker, Birdie’s Shack, and the pool bar.

Responsibilities may include scheduling and training of staff, assisting with payroll, promoting engagement with employees and guests, and more. We would like our Assistant Food and Beverage Manager to have a true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities:

Assist in Managing and Leading Food and Beverage Staff with Excellence

·      Your responsibilities will include selecting, training, evaluating, counseling, and disciplining Team members under company policies, as well as safety and sanitation requirements. You’ll also need to maintain employee records related to attendance, punctuality, and performance.

·      You’ll help oversee determining labor needs, adjusting staffing levels as necessary, and assisting in preparing work schedules with specific duties for each staff member. It's also crucial to keep track of all food handlers' licenses and Responsible Beverage Services certifications for servers, as well as hold regular staff meetings to communicate information and update employees on any concerns or feedback.

·      To ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as food safety and sanitation requirements, it is crucial to have a thorough understanding of these standards and take all necessary steps to maintain them. It is also essential to adhere to Lakehouse safety standards and security procedures and ensure that your team is fully compliant with all rules and regulations.


Quality Control and Managing Operations

·      You will be responsible for assisting in maintaining high standards of quality control for regularly scheduled F&B cleaning programs. This includes ensuring all equipment and furnishings are kept clean and that all food contact areas are sanitized at least once daily. You will also be required to assist in selecting and providing proper equipment and supplies for your team. You will also be helping with inventory and ordering supplies as needed.

·      Working closely with the Director of F&B and F&B Manager, you will develop, plan, implement, and follow through on programs and procedures to benefit the company, attend hotel management meetings, and prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly reports that cover food and beverage budgets, cost control, labor, sales targets, and more.

·      Assist in implementing and monitoring internal controls for the Food and Beverage Department.

·      Assist in writing all standard recipes for all beverages. Ensure only standard recipes are always used by all bartenders.

·      Verify the accuracy of all charges to ensure proper posting to accounts, including verifying member account numbers, names, and or signatures and obtaining required authorization codes on credit card charges.


Best Practices for Guest and Prospect Interaction

·      To ensure a positive experience for all guests and prospects, it’s important to communicate effectively and show appreciation of any issues and prompt resolution of problems are key to maintaining good relationships. Additionally, always keep integrity, confidentiality, and sensitivity top of mind when working with both internal and external guests.


Other

·      To ensure a smooth delivery of services, it’s crucial to communicate effectively with all hotel staff. Coordinate with the front desk, Human Resources, maintenance staff, and the Food and Beverage Director and Manager on tasks that require attention.

·      Take on additional duties as needed.


Qualifications:

·      3 years of experience in food and beverage management, preferably in a hotel/resort setting.

·      Strong leadership and communication Skills

·      Ability to manage budgets and control costs.

·      Proficient in menu planning and development

·      Understanding of inventory management and ordering procedures

·      Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

·      Food Handlers and RBS certified. 


EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

  • Mostly Monday through Friday but may be required to work various shifts as project and property needs dictate, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
