About Lakehouse
Since 2013, Lakehouse Music Academy has lived by one mission: Transformation through music education. We teach students from ages 3 to 100. We share our building with Lakehouse Recording Studios, Russo Music, and Monmouth University's Music Industry program. Lakehouse Recording Studios is a world-class facility designed by John Storyk/WSDG, with Studio North built around a Neve 8024 and Studio South around an API 2488. Our students play in curated bands matched by skill, genre, and personality. We help students write original music and learn music production, and every semester ends with Big Gig shows at Asbury Park venues like the Asbury Lanes, the Arthur Pryor Bandshell, the Wonder Bar, and the Vogel. One of our goals is to open more locations.
Our values: Be Student Centered. Serve our Community. Own the Outcome.
About the Role
The Academy Manager leads our instructor team and the student and family experience, based at either campus. You'll support a team of about 40 instructors and coordinate with the team at our other campus. You'll work side by side with our Music Directors, who lead curriculum and teaching quality. You'll partner with our Head of Operations and Enrollment Director and report to Juan O'Grady, our VP & General Manager.
What You'll Do
- Lead and manage the instructor team: Build instructor schedules and keep every lesson and band covered. Recruit, hire, and onboard instructors with the Music Directors, and handle coaching, feedback, and performance management.
- Drive Lyra adoption: Help instructors use Lyra LMS, our cutting-edge in-house learning platform, consistently and effectively.
- Care for students and families: Get to know our students and parents, solve problems quickly, and help families stay with us semester after semester.
- Curate and manage bands: Match students into bands by skill, genre, and personality, and keep each band on track and growing.
- Deliver Big Gigs and summer camps: Plan and run our Big Gig performances and summer camp programs from start to finish.
- Partner across the team: Work with the Music Directors on program quality and with our Head of Operations and Enrollment Director on placements and re-enrollment, and share regular updates with Juan.
What Success Looks Like in Year One
- Engaged instructors: A team that is well scheduled, supported, and glad to be here.
- Happy families: Parents and students who feel welcomed, heard, and taken care of.
- Great bands and shows: Well-matched bands, and Big Gigs and camps that run smoothly.
- Retention: Our 2026 theme is "retention is growth." You'll help more students stay, progress, and re-enroll.

- Management experience: Proven experience leading and developing a team.
- Music background: Musical experience is important for this role.
- People skills: Customer service experience and a real love for helping people.
- Organization: You juggle schedules, details, and deadlines with ease and follow through.
