On-Call Audio Visual Technician
The IT Department plays a vital role in the behind-the-scenes operations of Lakehouse Resort. As an On-Call Audio Visual Technician, you will be an essential part of this team, ensuring the seamless execution and technical success of resort events. In this role, you will help set up, operate, and maintain AV equipment to ensure meetings, conferences, and special events run seamlessly. From sound and lighting to video and connectivity, you will provide the technical expertise that brings our events to life, creating a smooth and professional experience for our guests and clients. This flexible, part-time position is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering flawless event support.
THE DUTIES OF AN ON-CALL AUDIO VISUAL TECHNICIAN INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TOO, THE FOLLOWING:
- Set up and operate audio, video, and lighting gear for live events
- Provide AV support for event-related devices (laptops, tablets, video conferencing systems, and networking)
- Configure and monitor video conferencing platforms (Zoom, Teams, WebEx, etc.)
- Ensure high-quality sound, visuals, connectivity, and technical support during events
- Troubleshoot and resolve AV issues quickly and calmly under pressure
- Support event staff with connectivity (Wi-Fi, Ethernet, VPN access, printer setup, etc.)
- Work directly with clients and staff to meet both AV and IT needs
- Tear down and safely store equipment post-event
- Help maintain, update, and organize AV/IT inventory
- Assist IT Director with companywide hotel tech and event systems
- Previous AV or IT support experience (live event, hotel, or venue experience is a big plus!)
- Tech-savvy and familiar with audio mixers, microphones, projectors, lighting setups, laptops, and networking equipment.
- Knowledge of Windows/Mac OS troubleshooting, Microsoft Office/365, and basic network connectivity.
- Experience with video conferencing tools and integration with AV systems.
- A knack for sound equalizing and system calibration.
- Able to lift to 75 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods.
- A flexible schedule — availability for evenings, weekends, and occasional weekdays.
- A positive attitude, great communication skills, and a problem-solving mindset.
