Housekeeping Manager
The Housekeeping Manager at Lakehouse Resort oversees the cleanliness, comfort, and overall presentation of all areas within our property, ensuring that every space—from guest rooms to public areas—reflects the highest standards of luxury and care. This role requires a detail-oriented leader with strong problem-solving skills who can anticipate departmental needs, train and motivate a dedicated team, and foster an environment where impeccable service is consistently delivered. Success depends on balancing teamwork with individual initiative, creating a welcoming atmosphere that elevates the guest experience while supporting staff excellence.
THE DUTIES OF A HOUSEKEEPING MANAGER INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TOO, THE FOLLOWING:
- Oversee the day-to-day operation in areas relating to the Housekeeping Department and to administer supervision of all the housekeeping staff.
- Assist in general inventories for cleaning and guest supplies, recording all stock and maintaining control of all issuing.
- Support the coffee shop operations, ensuring high quality service.
- Assist and ensure daily room inspections are completed and follow up is completed with room attendants and supervisors.
- Monitor time and attendance, ensuring all employees adhere to break policy.
- Inspect and ensure cleanliness of public and heart of the house areas.
- Create and assign special projects where needed, ensuring physical product is up to standard.
- Assure that the housekeeping department operates according to the policies and procedures set forth by Lakehouse Resort.
- Ensure uniform and personal appearance is clean and professional.
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Protect company assets.
- 3 years' experience in hospitality management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Computer efficient; knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
- Ability to consistently demonstrate a “YES” attitude when performing duties with employees, guests, and management.
- Ability to handle stressful situations in a calm professional manner and exhibit good judgement.
- Must be able to coach, council and develop employees. Must be able to motivate and lead by example, believe in a strong team culture, and set the scene for high performance.
- Must demonstrate a positive attitude and professional demeanor.
- Able to establish and maintain a safe working environment according to OSHA regulations, that would protect both the employee and coworkers.
- Able to stand, walk, and sit up to 10 hours in a single day.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear, taste, smell.
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
