We are currently seeking an experienced Emergency Veterinary Assistant to join our 24/7 emergency team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is confident in clinical support duties, and is passionate about patient care.
Schedule & Shift Differentials
The Emergency Veterinary Assistant plays a critical role in supporting veterinarians and technicians in the delivery of high-quality emergency care. This position assists with patient handling, treatments, diagnostics, and maintaining a safe, efficient clinical environment while providing compassionate support to patients and clients during stressful situations.

Schedule & Shift Differentials
- Day and Night shifts available
- $4/hr shift differential for shifts worked Monday–Sunday, 7:00pm–7:00am
- $2/hr shift differential for shifts worked Saturday & Sunday, 7:00am–7:00pm
The Emergency Veterinary Assistant plays a critical role in supporting veterinarians and technicians in the delivery of high-quality emergency care. This position assists with patient handling, treatments, diagnostics, and maintaining a safe, efficient clinical environment while providing compassionate support to patients and clients during stressful situations.
What You’ll Do
- Support veterinarians and technicians during emergency procedures and treatments
- Safely restrain and handle patients with compassion and confidence
- Assist with diagnostics, treatments, and patient monitoring as directed
- Maintain clean, organized treatment and patient care areas
- Provide comfort and support to patients throughout their hospital stay
- Communicate respectfully and effectively with team members in a high-acuity setting
- Uphold PSVSE standards for safety, cleanliness, and patient care
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Assistant required
- Prior experience in an emergency or specialty setting preferred
- Ability to remain calm, adaptable, and compassionate in emergency situations
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Commitment to learning and continuous improvement
