Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) - Emergency
Bridgetown Veterinary Emergency and Referral (BVER) is a specialty animal hospital located in Portland Oregon. Our hospital team includes highly skilled veterinarians specializing in Emergency/Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Surgery, Ophthalmology and are supported by dedicated technicians and support staff.

Who are we looking for right now?
Bridgetown Veterinary Emergency & Referral is looking for experienced Certified Veterinary Technicians, for our ER department. Our ER department offers 4–10-hour shifts; Wednesday-Saturday. Minimum 3 years of ER experience required.
Essential Job Functions
- Triage and assessment of cases - including alerting DVM of patients in critical conditions
- Perform diagnostic tests and procedures
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by DVM
- Provide support and education to pet owners
- Maintain accurate medical records
Required Skills
- Valid certification as a veterinary technician in the state of Oregon (CVT)
- Prior experience in an emergency or specialty veterinary hospital required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in fast paced environment and handle stressful situations with composure
- Confident in life saving procedures such as CPR, chest taps, and urinary deobstruction
- Strong phlebotomy and venipuncture skills, advanced catheter and sampling line placement skills preferred
- Assisting and monitoring of surgical and sedated procedures, including management of unstable patients. Additional anesthesia training to be provided.
