Join the Lake Worth Drainage District as an Equipment Operator I and help maintain canal banks and right-of-ways. This hands-on role involves tree removal, trimming, handwork, and operating chainsaws and construction equipment such as mini-excavators and mini-skid steers.
Key Responsibilities
Perform vegetation maintenance, including tree clearing and lawn care
Operate equipment for mowing, trimming, and debris removal
Follow safety protocols and maintain equipment
Assist with herbicide applications as needed
Support emergency response efforts during storms
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Valid Florida driver’s license required
Tree clearing or lawn care experience helpful but not required
Ability to lift 45 pounds and work outdoors in all weather
Strong teamwork skills and safety awareness
Position may be filled at a higher grade for qualified candidates.
