Job Summary:
The Lake Wildwood Water Otters are seeking an energetic, experienced, and enthusiastic Swim Team Coach to lead our youth swim program for the 2026 summer season, late May-early August. The coach will work with swimmers ages 5–18 years old, creating a positive and competitive environment that emphasizes skill development, teamwork, and fun.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and run weekday practices from 5:00–8:00 PM Monday-Thursday and Friday afternoons from approximately 11am-1pm.
- Teach and refine stroke technique, starts, turns, and race strategies.
- Build a progressive season training plan balancing conditioning, technique, and team spirit.
- Motivate swimmers ages 5–18 to achieve individual and team goals while fostering sportsmanship.
- Supervise swimmers to ensure safety both in and out of the pool.
- Lead the team through 5 Saturday swim meets and 1 championship meet.
- Communicate effectively with swimmers, parents, and team leadership about practice schedules, meets, and swimmer progress.
- Collaborate with assistant coaches and delegate responsibilities when appropriate.
Education and Experience:
· Previous coaching experience with competitive swimming required.
· Strong knowledge of all four competitive strokes, meet rules, and procedures.
· Current certifications in Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED (or ability to obtain before season starts).
· Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
· Must be available for practices and Saturday meets throughout the season.
Preferred Skills
· USA Swimming Coach certification or equivalent.
· Experience as a competitive swimmer.
· Ability to design engaging, age-appropriate workouts for ages 5–18
