Accounting Supervisor

The Lake Washington School District Accounting Department is looking for qualified candidates for the position of Accounting Supervisor. This position is based at the district Resource Center in Redmond and reports to the Director of Accounting. This is a full-time, year round position with full benefit package.

SUMMARY
The Accounting Supervisor reports to the Director of Accounting in the management of the District Funds and the timely and accurate payment of invoices for goods and services procured by the District. A strong working knowledge is required in the utilization of automated accounting systems with a commensurate ability to supervise staff in its use. Acts in a supporting capacity to the Director of Accounting and assumes managerial responsibilities in their absence.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance or related field. Additional professional level experience may substitute for required education.
• Five (5) years of experience in accounting or accounts payable related positions required.
• Two (2) years supervisory experience preferred.
• Public school experience preferred.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Generally, the job requires 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations, in a generally hazard free environment, and in a clean atmosphere. The usual and customary methods of performing the functions of this job require the following physical demands:

• Frequent reaching, handling, fingering and/or feeling.
• Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling.
• Seldom climbing and balancing.
• Seldom stooping, kneeling, crouching and/or crawling.
