What are the responsibilities and job description for the Experienced Preschool Teacher position at Lake Tarpon Learning Center?
Our family owned, well established and beloved preschool program is looking for an energetic and outgoing person to become the newest addition to our invaluable childcare team! We are ready for a full time employee, with great work ethic and reliability to help us teach and care for the little ones in our program. We are open from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday, and we are closed for all the major holidays (with pay, once established).
Our ideal candidate would be a loving and compassionate team player, with motivation to maintain a fun and meaningful program for our kiddos. Our program is stable and happy, and our kiddos are thriving and love to learn. We keep our group sizes smaller, and our classrooms are fun spaces!
We are looking for someone who is dedicated to a long-term position and we hope that the candidate will join us as part of the family. A CDA holding SMIC (over 21) with classroom experience would be preferred, but a teacher in training is acceptable as we are also open to and willing to train the right person for the job.
Starting pay of $16 /hourly, or more for someone with training and minimal classroom teacher experience - the scale would go up from there depending on that. An inexperienced new employee may start at $15/hour and is required to complete a pre-service training and follow it up with the 45-hour state required childcare training program (mostly online - and can be done at your own pace....you have a year to complete but can move much quicker). A reliable CDA and/or a SMIC certification could receive a higher pay level.
The candidate must minimally be over 18, possess a high school diploma and be able to pass a digital background screening. We are looking to hire immediately, so please inquire on the position today so that we can schedule an interview to meet with you right away!!
