What are the responsibilities and job description for the Student Support Technicians (2 positions) position at Lake Tahoe Community College?
Lake Tahoe Community College (LTCC) announces an opportunity to work in Enrollment Services. There are two positions available, a full-time Technician II and a full-time Technician I, applicants may become finalists for either position.
LTCC is proud to offer a variety of degree and certification programs to students. Enrollment Services is a student’s first stop to registering for classes either to complete a degree, continue their education, or transfer to a four-year institution. Serving about 3,000 each quarter, students can pursue a wide variety of interests at LTCC such as the Lake Tahoe Basin Fire Academy program and offerings in allied health, business administration, commercial music, criminal justice, digital media, and wilderness education. The college calendar is based on the quarter system, with each quarter 12 weeks long. Following the three quarters there is a six-week summer session.
Student Support Technician II: Oversee the processing of student applications (international applications included) and related automated communications. Timely process transcript requests through the National Student Clearinghouse and paper request. Coordinate and complete student registration for our Institutional Service Agreement providers. Collect, review and post grades for quarterly challenge examinations. Collect appropriate documentation to make appropriate residency determinations. Act as backup for our veterans School Certifying Official. Provide exemplary customer service to students at the front counter, online and over the telephone. Research problems and determine appropriate solutions; perform a variety of complex technical and clerical tasks in connection with the admission, registration, records, and student support services.
Student Support Technician I: Oversee the processing of quarterly census rosters which includes dropping students and sending out faculty reminders for census roster due dates. Properly file rosters and drops on a quarterly basis to ensure documents are easily accessible. Maintain the departmental email inbox and provide proper follow-up which includes document requests and retrieval. Provide exemplary customer service to students at the front counter, online and over the telephone. Research problems and determine appropriate solutions; perform a variety of complex technical and clerical tasks in connection with the admission, registration, records, and student support services.
APPLICATION PROCESS:
All applicants may be consider for either position in the application process. After review, suitable applicants will be invited by phone or email on or around Thursday, April 30, 2026 to participate in a skills assessment. Successful candidates will then be interviewed by a committee of approximately 3-5 individuals; these interviews are tentatively scheduled for Monday, May 11, 2026. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee an interview. LTCC reserves the right to return to the applicant pool at any point during the recruitment process.
Salary Range: LTCC offers a competitive compensation package for full-time employees.
The Technician II has a starting placement salary of $47,531 to $52,493 annually, dependent on education and experience.
The Technician I has a starting placement salary of $45,229 to $49,952 annually, dependent of education and experience.
In addition to base salary, this position qualifies for extra bilingual (Spanish), masters or doctorate pay.

LTCC also matches 26.81% of an eligible employee’s salary and contributes it into a CalPERS pension account for qualifying employees.
Work-Life Balance: These positions are 40 hours per week and 12 months per year, including summer and winter hours. Hours are expected to be Monday-Friday, shifts will be within district hours of 8 am to 5 pm, hours may vary according to the needs of the program. These positions are eligible for overtime compensation (non-exempt). These positions may qualify for LTCC’s telecommute program, which allows employees the opportunity to telecommute for up to 20% of the work week after completion of a three-month qualifying period.
LTCC provides a generous leave package including 17 paid holidays per year plus 12 days vacation (with the potential to reach 24 days through years of service) and 12 days sick leave per year.
