What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pain Management Nurse PRN position at Lake Surgical Hospital Slidell, LLC?
As a Pre-Operative Nurse in our Pain Management department, you will play a vital role in preparing patients for interventional pain procedures, ensuring their safety, comfort, and understanding throughout the process. You will collaborate closely with physicians and procedural teams, provide patient education, administer moderate sedation as directed, and monitor patients post-procedure.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Performing and coordinating pre-procedure assessments and patient education specific to pain management interventions.
- Administering moderate sedation under the direction of the procedural physician.
- Evaluating and monitoring patients immediately following pain management procedures.
- Collaborating with physicians, anesthesia, and clinical teams to ensure smooth procedural workflow.
- Providing patient safety, comfort, and emotional support during pre- and post-procedure care.
- Accurately documenting patient care and maintaining compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
To join our team, you’ll need the following qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree).
- Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience.
- Experience in pre-op, procedural, or pain management nursing preferred.
- Current Louisiana RN license.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
